Lane Departure Warning System

The Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) is a warning system that informs the driver when a line in the road has been crossed. The LDWS detects any unintentional lane change at miniumum speed of 80 kph and signals the driver via a vibration unit fitted into the drivers seat.

RT4 data communications equipment

All the audio and multimedia functions in the GPS RT4 MP3* radio telephone can be accessed via a retractable 3D 16/9 colour screen. This system, which features a hard drive, combines a single CD, radio and MP3 player, a hands-free, a GPS navigation system covering Europe, and a local assistance and emergency calls system**.

The Peugeot 308 received 5 stars in Euro NCAPtests on the passengers protection category,  the maximum score possible.

Airbags

In the event of an impact, a comprehensive device ensure passengers protection: the system includes shock absorption and front seatbelts with pre-tensioners. The 308 is also fitted to up to 7 airbags in the cabin.

Braking technologies

The Peugeot 308 breaking system includes anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), and emergency braking assistance (EBA). In addition, ESP (dynamic stability control) provides wheel spin prevention (ASR) and stability control (ESC).
